Lovely couple of days in nice hotel overlooking the sea Positive: Nice hotel with some rooms overlooking the sea.Comfortable bed with sitting space in room and tea/coffee making facilities and fridge. Very quiet in the morning since bar and restaurant open at 5pm. Good walking area and Penarth a nice town. Negative: Minor niggles such as tap on bathroom basin and quite slippery shower base.

Superb location and clean and tidy, will defenately stay again. Positive: Superb location, view over the sea and just by the beginning of the coastal path. Lovely clean room and comfy bed, shame didnt get a chanse to use the bath but hopefully next time. Negative: It took a while to get hot water, however appreciate it is a big old building, and found a notice of mentioning this. The wee coffee treats were awesome.

The hotel 🏨 restaurant and spa all run independently. But all gave first class service Positive: Location … beautiful parking welcome pack in room Negative: Getting used to just having codes . To enter as no reception.. just my personal view but wouldn’t stop me booking again

Disappointed stay. Positive: The position. Bed was comfy. Free parking. Negative: What can I say about this place. It's described as an apartment. I don't know what your definition of an apartment is, but mine is that you have facilities to cater for yourself, albeit in small quantities. This place didn't give us that. There wasn't even a cork screw. No bowls, cutlery, toaster, so impossible to prepare even breakfast. There was no bin in the main part of the room, only a very small bin in the bathroom. It was advertised has having a seating area, I'm sorry but two chairs in the bedroom, do not constitute a seating area. A seating area to my mind is separate from the bedroom. So given the lack of facilities, one would think then that it's a hotel. In which case the rooms would be serviced, and there would be a reception, but no, no beds made, no personal touches, nothing. Which leads me to think that this is actually a glorified hostel as you're not getting the facilities of an apartment or the facilities of a hotel. The place itself was dirty, and I've seen from previous reviews that this has been raised by other guests, so I don't expect anything will be done about it. The wood on the stairs is thick of dust, the carpet on the stairs was not hoovered, the ladies toilet in the communal area was not cleaned for 2 days. How do I know this, because the bin was overflowing with rubbish and tampon wrappers. Our headboard was thick of dust, the lights over the bed were filthy, the toilet did not flush properly, you had to pump the handle to get it to flush and the hot water tap was loose. The lock on the door was also very stiff, and I see that this has been communicated by a previous guest, and obviously not been acted upon. The garden at the back is overgrown with weeds and generally looks untidy. This is the only place that I have stayed in where I have left a day early. Would I stay here again, absolutely not. Would I recommend it, definitely not.
